How werewolf names work
Werewolf names feel wild and a little old, often with wolf roots hidden inside them (Ulf, Lob, Vulf, Fen) and pack names that describe the hunt: Moonfang, Greyclaw, Nighthowl. Use them for horror, urban fantasy or a pack leader in your campaign.
Tips
Ulf and Wulf come from old words for wolf, and Lob from Latin lupus. Our names hide these on purpose.
A pack name can be shared by the whole family or earned by a single hunter.
Give the human side a plain modern name to hide in the city.
Many real names do: Ulf (Norse), Wolfgang (German), Lowell and Lupin (Latin lupus). Our werewolf names borrow these sounds.
Can I use these for a dog?
Yes, a husky or shepherd named Greyclaw is a great idea.
Can I use these names?
Yes. Names are free to use for pets, stories, games, products and anything else. Real names come from public government records; fantasy names are generated, so you do not need permission to use them.
